Job Title: HP-UX System Administrator/Help Desk Support
Job Description: Provides the primary level of UNIX system administration support and software installation-update support to HP customers and other HP field support personnel for HP Board Test systems. This is done through telephone consulting and remote modem access. Isolates, verifies, and documents software installation and update problems on the HP board Test family of products. Works closely with other members of the SSv ITS (Inside Technical Services) group within the Americas Call Center, as well as MTD support personnel and other SSV support groups to maximize customer satisfaction with HP software update products. Rotates shift assignments as required to staff the SSV ITS group for the support of Board Test products. Conducts business in a professional manner. Promote teamwork and cooperative effort; maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area while practicing good safety habits; provide customers with the highest quality of products and services; understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes.
Musts: Must have the ability to identify, verify, solve and document software problems and to deliver effective consulting via telephone is mandatory. BS degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience plus typically 2 or more years relevant industry experience is required. Demonstrated System Administration Skills on the UNIX Operating System. Ability to effectively interact with people at all levels and above average written and oral communication skills.
Desireds: Desired: demonstrated expertise and skill levels on HPUX system administration and flexibility to work non-standard hours in December and January.

Must be able to develop an understanding of the relationship of product structures and bills of material to the planning environment. Must have excellent teamwork skills.

Job Description: *Open View Storage Node Manager* Join a new, fast-moving, customer-focused organization establishing a new product presence in the Storage Area Network (SAN) management market. All development has used Fusion 2.0 and has been done in Java with RMI on NT and HP-UX. This will continue but future development will likely include C/C++ development on NT and/or other platforms. Responsibilities will include design, development and testing (development and/or execution) of system components. CPE activity will also be required. Flexibility and a willingness to jump in and fill gaps will be a key in a dynamic, rapidly growing team environment such as ours. The initial activities will include development of an NT version of Storage Node Manager.
Musts: Must have Strong OO (SCSI) design and development experience. Java development and/or extensive C++ experience. At least three years experience in a very customer-focused R&D organization. Willingness to learn and a "can do" attitude. Strong flexibility and initiative. Unix and NT development skills.
Desireds: Desired: Masters Degree in Computer Science. Storage management software or other storage experience. Experience with enterprise and workgroup applications. Network management knowledge. Knowledge of CIM, WMI, DMI and/or SNMP. Knowledge or experience with the OpenView portfolio.

The ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult customers. Experience with Domain Operating System. Experience with HP-UX or UNIX operating systems. System administration skills for Domain and UNIX.
